Competition:You want to focus your marketing toward your local population as they are your steady clientele that carry you through the winter. However the summer lake residents and tourists, campers and boaters spend a load of money here in the nicer spring through fall months. We found that a post card marketing campaign works great through the winter to pull in patrons from surrounding areas as far away as Knoxville , Chattanooga, Crossville and Maryville.
Growth Potential:The campground expansion to the last 7 acres would be a big draw and add approximately another 75+ camping spots. Our future developments are geared toward a KOA/ Jelly-stone style camping area. We also looked at putting in a kids splash area and outdoor movie theater for free movies to play for our guests We had planned on possibly putting in a trout pond for another revenue source of keep what you catch trout at a premium price. This was very profitable for Starving Marvin's in Cherokee and Cross eyed Cricket in tn. Both owners retired so it was stopped.
Training/Support:As long as the owners health and or schedule permitted we would help with the new owners acclimation if needed, but usually the new owners are ready for the old owners to get out of their way so they can establish their business done their own way.
