This is a well established commercial painting and decorating firm that has been successfully trading for well over 30 years. Within that time the company has built up a sterling repuation based on quality of work from initial enquiry right through to final sign off. The company provides both internal and external painting and decorating services on a commercial basis. The company have a good number of Blue Chip clients who use their services on a regular basis and several of these customers have long tems contracts in place which ensures consistent levels of work year in year out. These customers include councils, housing associations, local authorities, construction companies and public houses to name but a few. The company has dealt with many of its customers for a long period of time due to the fact it always meets, and in many cases, exceeds the Key Performace Indicators (KPI’s) that are set. Because of this the company benefits from having ongoing contracts in place, a strong future order book and good visibility of works well in advance, which enables them to plan projects effectively and profitably.
The company has built up a highly skilled and trustworthy team of time served decorators that do not require “on the job” supervison. The company also has excellent long term relationships with sub-contractors whom it calls upon as and when required. It is easy to run with low overheads as the owner operates from an office in his own home with a small lock-up to store the decorating equipment.
They are highly competitive yet make regular profits each year, and have performed well during the recent recession.
|Facilities:||The vendor works from a home office environment. However the business does rent a small unit (circa 1000 square feet) on an industrial estate where it stores equipment, scaffold, ladders etc. The unit is secure and the estate has manned security on site. Rent is circa £3000 p.a.|
|Competition:||As already mentioned the business does very little in the way of marketing preferring to rely on repeat business, referrals and recommendations to generate its sales revenues. It does advertise in yellow pages but could certainly benefit from the introduction of a website to further market its services to a larger audience.|
|Growth Potential:||There is no reason why a new owner could not scale the business up to increase sales and profitability still further. The business has all the necessary accreditations and reputation in place to do this. The vendor has been happy to keep it at its current levels over recent years and enjoys the benefit of having good levels of work in progress and future order book with contracts in place, which could last for several more years based on current conditions.
