Done tastefully in dark wood tables and cushioned chairs and accented with beach themes such as surf boards, surf shack tiki bar and sound system center. There are 2 restrooms inside and one outside which services our 3 level deck which has a ground level bar with views not only to the beach but to the bay as well for those gorgeous sunsets and sunrises. The outside area will seat 40 patrons comfortably. We also have a partial kitchen that could accommodate a moderate no fried food menu.
Competition:Currently operating as a beach wedding/private party facility, there is no competition on the West End. As for restaurants, there are 2 in a 1 mile radius but none with our unique location and venue.
Growth Potential:We have real estate offices in Galveston and Houston and this property was purchased as an investment. We are not bar or restaurant operators and chose the wedding/private party venue as we could maximize income with minimal time from us and have really just tried to pay the bills until the economy turned for the better, which it now has. Galveston in its own right is a very vibrant city but has 4 million plus people just an hour away in Houston. Vacationers are also pulled from Austin, San Antonio and Dallas as well as from all over the south. We feel with a full time experienced operator this venue could do extremely well. With very few choices for dining out on this end of the island my suggested course of action would be to continue with the beach weddings and open the rest of the time as a bar/restaurant. One other potential that seems to be a distinct possibility is resort gambling in the Texas coastal areas. All states are scrambling for new revenue and gambling coming to Galveston is a real possibility based on previous attemps to legalize.
Training/Support:To be negotiated and or discussed regarding buyers needs. We have a successful beach home and condo vacation rental business where guests could be referred to the venue. The Beachsiders name is certainly branded and recognizable on the island and a new operator owner could build on that name.
