Business profile:
The business operates two franchised areas in Cornwall and offers dance, drama and singing schools for children in the four to eighteen age group. A pre-school class for four to six year olds is also available as a pre curser to the main group.

Both classes are extremely well established with a reputation for excellence in both business practice and quality of tuition. The smaller classes of fifteen children facilitate good levels of attention and support for every child.

Classes operate in the evenings and at weekends with each term lasting for twelve weeks. The fee per term is £318 per student with the “early learners” commanding £159.00 per term. There is scope for development and another two schools could be introduced within the franchise territory.

The franchisor offers ongoing support in the form of training, marketing and IT solutions to make sure each franchisee maximises its own potential. The schools are the only ones in the region to have Council of Dance Education and Training accreditation.

The purchaser will have to attend a one week training course run by the main franchisor. This will be available in October of 2010.
Facilities:The classes are run from two school premises available to rent after normal school hours. The business provide the required dates and times and sign an appropriate booking form. Materials and equipment is all provided by the teachers.
Competition:The main franchisor insists on a minimum marketing spend per school. This is backed up with a national marketing campaign that is becoming more and more web based, as this is the preferred method for enrolment. The franchise also gives advice on how to market the classes and backs this up with a comprehensive range of literature, logos and prospectuses. The company carry out extensive leaflet drops of twelve thousand twice a year, advertise in local papers and have a good internet presence where classes can be booked and paid for on line.
Training/Support:The owner will provide a full handover for a period to be agreed as part of the sale negotiation. There will be a comprehensive handover to the purchaser. All the teaching staff will be remaining with the franchise.
