First Time offered a truly remarkable family business and lifestyle in a beautiful unspoiled corner.

Since starting out in 1992 we have established a highly acclaimed horse trekking business, combined with 18 hectares of land in the beautiful Golden Bay area, surrounded by both Abel Tasman and Kahurangi National Parks. Together with an architecturally and Eco-friendly designed, 3 level, 2.5 year old home with panoramic views encompassing Farewell Spit and awe inspiring sea and mountain vistas, this lifestyle and business is offered on a going concern basis.

The House:
The main construction of this house is wood framed, and with huge native New Zealand timber’s featuring throughout, it brings the outside in, and makes this house part of its surroundings. All windows are double glazed, the ceilings are well insulated, a HR V system has been installed and the house meets all required council standards.
The main house consists of 4 double bedrooms (1 en suite), 3 bathrooms all with showers and 1 large office room. The large main bathroom features a huge double spa bath.
The living area is increased by the a large wooden deck, accessed from both the lounge /dining room and main Bedroom.
The main open planned living area includes incredible panoramic views over the farm and beyond. With a huge slate and wood beamed open fire in the lounge and a log burner in the dining area the house is easy and maintainable to heat in the winter.
The practical and sophisticated kitchen has black granite work surfaces, a 5 burner gas stove, an extra-large oven, dishwasher, a large walk in pantry and plenty of useful storage. The layout and design of this kitchen really makes this the heart of the home.
There is a convenient, large separate laundry room located off the kitchen, which can easily accommodate a washing machine, separate tumble dryer and a large extra fridge or freezer.
A large double garage is located 20 meters down a path from the house which has a separate office and a workshop area. Lovely low maintenance gardens surround the house and raised bed vegetable garden complete this large family home.

The Land:
The farm has 18ha of flat and rolling country side with the majority being arable pasture but with valleys of regenerating native bush. The farm has 2 natural creeks running from the surrounding national park through the paddocks.
The farm is divided into 12 paddocks water troughs have been installed where there is no natural water supply, with graveled lane ways and excellent fencing throughout.
A 3 bay hay and machinery shed with 2 bays concreted with roller doors and a loft and 1 bay which stores winter feed is located on one of the paddocks. There is a forestry block with twenty year old pines which line part of the creek.
The property has been subdivided which is unique for the Golden Bay area so potential building growth or resale is a valuable and rare prospect. Due to the land being Zoned ‘Rural Residential’ as of right we can subdivide the land into 4 hectare titles.

The Business:
We began this business 20 years ago with just an idea. From humbled beginnings we have developed an incredibly successful and reputable business. We operate with 22 horses of various ages and sizes. Our tack shed is a 4 bay barn with front being board and batten material, with 3 of the bays having large opening doors and concrete floors, this includes toilet facilities the fourth having a sectional garage door, with a dirt floor.
We operate our Treks under a Department of Conversation concession licence, which has just been renewed for a further 10 years, ending in 2021. This licence allows our business to operate within the boundaries of Kahurangi National Park which is a very rare and unique part of the licence. We have been taking multi-day treks into the park for years. Due to an increase in shorter treks we have not further developed these treks but this is a huge expansion area.
Optional farm plant may be negotiated at an additional cost. Some machinery items are not considered going concern so will not be included in the asking price.

Asking price is Inclusive of GST.
